Christmas Eve (In my Christmas Jammies)

This year, Christmas Eve was spent at my Grandpa and Grandma Paxman's house. It is where I spent Christmas Eve almost every year as a child so there are definitely a lot of traditions and memories associated with it.

I love spending time with my family and seeing how loved Grant is by everyone. He was so spoiled with attention, love and (might I add presents...)

After a traditional Christmas Dinner, we have a little program which involves christmas carols, a mini talent show, a christmas message from Grandpa and of course our own little Nativity Pageant put on by the grandchildren (and great-grandchild Grant). This year was extra entertaining because Grant was baby Jesus. It was really funny because he is such a big kid, and was moving all over the place so he really didn't portray a newborn baby at all haha but everyone loved having a real baby around to be a part of it.

Garth and I sang a duet together called "Ho Ho Hopefully" by The Maine, Garth sang "I want an Alien for Christmas" by Fountains of Wayne and other people sang, played piano, and played guitar. It was nice, short and organized. Grandpa's message was amazing as always and the spirit was definetly felt by all that were there.

Afterwards, we had dessert and opened presents and put on our Christmas jammies. (Grant was fast asleep by this point). We also has carollers at our door which was so fun.

Just like every year, we went into the dining room where the real tree is and we light candles and sing Christmas Carols in English and German. Then everybody gets a chance to blow out a candle, from youngest to oldest.

Garth was ready with the fire extinguisher, just in case ;)
Garth's first time blowing out his candle.

Grant woke up crying just in time for us to head home for the night. Good thing Jocelyn was there to cuddle him and make him feel better.

After we got home and put Grant to bed, we spent the night doing things that we used to when we were younger like (putting "reindeer dust" on the lawn, putting out milk and cookies for Santa, carrots for the reindeer...etc.) We are such kids at heart!

Got caught eating Santa's cookies ;)

Then we took some pictures in front of the Christmas Tree and headed to bed.

I also decided to start the tradition of taking a picture of our children sleeping every Christmas Eve.
