Goodbye Lethbridge (for now!)

April was a fun-filled month of family time. We knew we were going to be gone for awhile so we took every opportunity we could to spend time with our Lethbridge family. Summer is such a busy time for us so it was nice to have some down time just the four of us before the crazy begun.

The weather was so incredible, when we weren't hanging in Jace and Vicky's backyard, we were park hopping.

Grant and Asher have developed such a bond and it has been so fun to watch. They gravitate towards each other and you will always find them together, whether they are playing or just lounging around.  They both are such little balls of energy and they feed off of each other. I'm starting to see why brothers are the best.

That moment when a bee "punches you in the face" haha

We got to meet the newest little Forsyth, Ivy Snow, who was born the day after Grant's 3rd birthday. So precious.

We also celebrated Garth's Grandma's birthday!

The only way this guy will take a nap anymore.

Asher is getting so old and has deveoped quite a funny little personality. It's funny because I always thought he would be the quiet and reserved one but he is my loud, screaming, laughing, huge, accident prone, daredevil child. He knows what he wants and he is smart enough he has decided he is going to learn how to talk and ask for it. Seriously his vocabulary is growing and growing.

Packing up for the summer has been a breeze. This is the first year we had a house of our own to leave behind, and we decided not to rent it out so basically I just left it all the way it was and just packed the summer necessities. I started 3 days before we left and I kept saying to Garth "This is too easy, I must be forgetting something..."

Taking a break from the packing for some Booster Juice and one last park run.

The boys will miss all the "snorts" and construction around our house, when we come back it will probably be all completed.

One of my favorite things to do in life is cuddle my little Grant. When he sweetly smiles and looks at you and asks "Wanna cuddle me Mom?" How could you not? This day he was especially sad after falling down the stairs so he needed some extra cuddles. I ended up falling asleep with him for a good hour.

Garth and I went on a date night to the new Allegiant movie. The movie was pretty good, but the company was top notch.

One of the most exciting things happened this month! Something that I have been looking forward to for 4 years...we put in our Vivint system!! I knew I wouldn't be able to rest without protecting our home before we left for the summer and I can't wait to get home and use it more.

Grant has found a new love in playing dress up, when he was younger I had to force him to keep his mask on even for one picture and now he puts it on himself. I love it when he plays "Superheroes".

*sigh* the ugly spiderman chair. You don't even know how many times I have tried to chuck that thing. Why do they love it so much? (Also, the boys kept escaping out the back, one time I found them roaming around the alley, so Garth built his makeshift gate on our back deck from some wood scraps and it works perfectly. Problem solved.)

Last goodbye for the summer!

When we moved to our house we found a big queen sized mattress in one room and a crib in the other. We had such a good system down at home with them sharing a room, we really didn't want to give that up, so for the first night we tried them in the same bed.

It didn't really work out and the next night Asher was in the crib haha.

Garth started his 5th Vivint summer and is excited for all the new opportunities that await him. This is the first summer with him going into it knowing that this is what he wants to do as his career, rather than just a way to get through school. With that in mind, the job has become something new and exciting and I know things will only get better from here!

Grant-osaurus

We spent the week after Easter in Calgary and we ended up throwing Grant a party to celebrate him turning 3! We wanted to do it in Calgary to make it a little easier on family and friends who live there!

Grant had really shown a lot of interest in dinosaurs over the past year so we thought we would take the theme and run with it.

We wanted to keep it more intimate this year, last year at his birthday party over 50 people showed up! It was awesome and a lot of fun, but we have found that when you invite too many people, you don't get to talk to anybody and actually enjoy your time. We invited some family and close friends and it was such an enjoyable night!

We turned the main floor into a jungle and had a yummy "Dino-themed" meal.

Grant wasn't very interested in eating because he was so excited to play with his friends. We set up a "Dino-dig" in the yard where we filled the water table with sand and hid little dinos, gems and other small prizes inside. It was a bigger hit than I imagined and he had so much fun.

After that it was PiƱata time! Luckily everybody got a chance to hit it before it broke. The kids filled their loot bags which were labelled with their Dinosaur name (Ex: Grantosaurus).

We had cake and presents and I am not-so-secretly happy about how much Grant loved his Dinosaur cake.

A duel broke out during the middle of present opening and it was the most hilarious thing to watch.

Grant was in heaven and I know this was his best birthday party yet. This was the first year he knew what a birthday was so the first year he knew what was going on haha. It made it such a fun night for us as parents watching him get so excited about everything. I look forward to watching him grow up and celebrating him every year.

We have the best friends and family and it was the perfect night.

No words can describe how much I love this rowdy, sweet, beautiful, full of life boy of mine and It was just the icing on the cake hearing about how much he had when we were tucking him in that night. It was a night to remember for sure!
