It's Christmas!

This year, we spent Christmas Eve with our Forsyth Family at Chrystal and Eric's house. We had our traditional Mexican dinner which we always look forward to, and then spent the night talking and chatting while all the cousins played together. We barely saw Grant all night he was having too much fun.

All the younger kids acted out the Nativity scene which is a gong show as always. This year Grant was a sheep...doubling as an angel haha. Lat Christmas in Calgary he was baby Jesus so it's weird to think about how much he has changed in a year. (Even though he was a huge Baby Jesus at the time... see here)

Most of these pictures were stolen from Colin and Rex Forsyth off of Facebook because I barely took any pictures.

Kathryn made headbands for all us girls which was so sweet and as you can see she's obviously really talented!

We did manage to take our yearly Christmas selfie...which is super important!

We might have took more than one...

I like this picture because there is so much weirdness going on and it is unknowingly my last belly picture of my pregnancy...

After we went home, Garth and I had an awesome Christmas Eve together. We were woken up bright and early by Grant on Christmas Morning and had so much fun watching Grant dig through his stocking, eat his "teetz" (treats), open his presents and play with his toys.

His Broncos football and new toothbrush proved to be his favorite stocking stuffers haha.

Grant had an awesome Christmas! He received so many new books, a car track, basketball hoop, bath toys, clothes, hat, shoes, train set, legos, and a drum...among other things. I was unable to take a picture, like I did last year because in the middle of opening presents I went into labor. But that's a different story for a different post :)

Even though we weren't able to spend this Christmas as a family, I was very comforted in knowing that Grant was having a fun time at Grandma and Grandpa's and he was taken care of by everyone.

Our Christmas Season

The Christmas Season was exactly what I pictured it would be (with a little less snow).

We spent our Christmas Season....

...loving Santa at our Ward Christmas Party...

...Decorating the Christmas Tree...

...Playing some Christmas Carols...

...loving our new couch (!!!)....

...watching lots of christmas movies...

...eating lots of Christmas treats...

...reading lots of Christmas stories...

...spending lots of time with family...

....wearing our cute winter clothes...

...enjoying the December weather (???)...

...baking some delicious treats...

...going on Starbucks dates for delicious hot chocolate, organic juice boxes and over priced banana bread...

...going out to eat and full fill pregnancy cravings...

...shopping at Chapters...

...ordering cute new glasses for mom...

...and for Grant...

... and saving the best for last, celebrating Garth's 26th Birthday!

Shoes, PS4game, pants, shirts, vest and concert tickets!

We spent the morning eating breakfast and opening presents in bed.

Garth always spoils me on my birthday so I wanted him to feel just as special!

Garth and I had an amazing afternoon together and then when Grant woke up we headed out!

He is such a hot dad.

Not to mention the most loving and hands-on dad.

We didn't realize until later that they were matching.

After some shopping we went out for our favorite pizza and went to a Churchill basketball game.

Afterwards we went home, had some birthday cheesecake and watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" to prepare for our date night out to watch "The Battle of the Five Armies" the next night.

I love this guy and as cliche as it sounds, I am extremely glad he was born :)

Last Stretch (34-38 weeks)

{34-38 WEEKS}

{36 weeks}
Baby has grown from the size of: a cantaloupe (17.7 inches, 5 lbs) to a celery bunch (19.6 inches, 6.5 lbs)

Cool Developments: The bones in the baby's skull can move and overlap, allowing the baby to pass through the birth canal easily. The baby is gaining weight at the rate of 1/2 ounce a day. He/she is practicing breathing and can use it's fingers to grasp very tightly.

Movement: Feeling lots of movement all the time!

Body changes: At 37 weeks my belly measured at 44.5 inches, the exact same measurement as when I was pregnant with Grant. With Grant I grew up to 45.5 inches.

Weight gained: 30ish lbs

Maternity Clothes: You know you are too pregnant when your maternity clothes don't fit you anymore.

Comfort Level: I am very uncomfortable, all the time so it's pretty nice having Garth around to rub my legs, paint my toenails and take my pants off before bed.  My hips are always clicking and so sore which makes walking a bit of a challenge. It sounds pathetic but I am barely able to do anything but try and last through the day without falling over.

Update: At 36 weeks I went for another ultrasound. My obstetrician knew that I was hoping for a VBAC, and because Grant was such a big baby (10 lbs 4 oz) he wanted a better idea of how big this baby was before going ahead in that direction. It was so cool being able to see our baby as a chubby baby rather than just the fetus you usually see at the halfway mark. I saw every bit of him and I couldn't believe how cute he was. It turns out at 36 weeks, our baby was approximately 7 1/2 lbs, so if I deliver on time our baby should be around 8 1/2 lbs.

Looking forward to: Meeting our little babe, obviously!...and being able to walk around Coscto without waddling or limping from the fatigue.
