3 Months Old.

This little guy is 3 months old!

Here is a bit of an update on Grant:

- At 11 weeks he weighed in at 14 lbs 12 ½ oz

- 24 inches long

- Head circumference: 42 cm

- Wears size 2 diapers (probably only for one more week)

- Wears 0-3 month pants, the rest of his clothes that fit are 3-6 months and some 6 months.

- Grant cooes and smiles all the time now. He also loves to squeal.

- He has also started laughing at mom, dad and other family members. He gets the hiccups afterwards because he laughs so hard.

- The nurses at the doctors office were surprised at how vocal he is. Every morning when he wakes up, we get to hear all about his dreams, stories, feelings etc. He goes strong for a good 20 minutes straight. It is my favourite.

- Grant got his 2 month immunizations. I was really not looking forward to it, but he did so good. More on that later.

- He usually eats about every 3 hours during the day, right now he is going through his 3 month growth spurt and is often hungry every 2 hours..!

- Usually only wakes up once to eat in the night, and can go on a 6 hour stretch in between eating.

- Is officially out of his bassinet and sleeping in his playpen (no crib for now.. once we move back home)

- On June 1st, (almost 10 weeks old) Grant went swimming for the first time. He was fascinated by it. We swam around for a good 45 minutes, and he loved it! I am excited for a lot more swimming this summer once it stops raining outside!

-He holds his hands together and makes a giggling sound when he is hungry, almost like he is excited to eat. In fact, he is often clasping his hands together, and it is very funny to see him looking so proper.

- Grant loves to play shy.
Sometimes when people are talking to him he will turn away and smile coyly. It is so cute!

- Grant holds his head up really well now while he is on his stomach, He even tries to roll over and has succeeded once. I was definitely not expecting it and neither was he!

- When Garth comes home from work, every day, without fail, Grant gives him the biggest grin ever.

-       Not as startled by loud noises anymore but still hates other babies crying and people whistling.

-       When he wakes up in his swaddle blanket he starts wrestling and kicking his legs up in the air, he looks like a dolphin or a seal trying to swim. Hilarious.

-       I give him baths every night now, it is my favourite part of the day. He loves the water, and afterwards he will lie on his change table, sometimes even do tummy time while I massage/lotion him up and put on his pjs. I then like to brush his hair and sing/read to him before bed.

- He had some minor cradle cap  and it is now 99% gone.

- He loves it when I play the guitar now. He just sits there listening and even sings(squeals) along.

- He now loves looking at himself in the mirror.

- Hates being held like a baby more than anything, he is even tired of sitting. When he is on my lap he wants to stand and bounce.

- Still not sitting up by himself yet, always slouches to one side in his "bumbo" seat.

- You always know when he is about to cry because he has this cute pouty lip that he pushes out. It would break my heart if it wasn't the cutest thing I've ever seen.

- At 9 weeks old, he found his right hand. Anytime you put him on his back, he would hold it up and stare at it.

 - At 10 weeks he started realizing he could control his arm, which resulted in him punching himself in the face numerous times.

- At 11 weeks he started grabbing and sticking everything in his mouth that he could get ahold of, especially his hand. He is getting really bored playing with his jungle play mat because he easily gets ahold of the animals and pulls them off.

- At 12 weeks, he started opening up his fist into an open hand, he also found his left fist.

Overall, I think he is enjoying life pretty well.

Our Month of May

The month of May was a month of change for us. We said goodbye to Garth's parents who left on an 18 month mission to Ireland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. We will miss them so much, but we also know that they will have an amazing time serving the Lord and will bless so many lives. Also, we moved out of our first home as a married couple AND we moved to Edmonton for the summer for Garth's work. Oh yes, and I'm also learning how to be a mom. So there's that.

Yes, lots of changes, but I have to say that I feel like I have never been happier! I love learning more and more each day and I feel like I am starting to get the hang of this whole mom thing. Grant had a hard time adjusting the first week we were here, and to make matters worse, the air conditioning wasn't working yet, so I had a fun time dealing with a hot, fussy baby. And I learned something new, babies cry. Okay that's old news but I learned that my baby CRIES. It was a challenging time and I am glad that he is feeling more comfortable in his new home.
The temperature in our apartment...!
This is Garth's second year working for Vivint and he is absolutely loving it! I feel so blessed that he has decided to sacrifice his summer and work so hard for our family.

Ready to go sell in the rain!

We are loving our new apartment, it is brand new so besides the fact that we are surrounded by construction and giant dirt mounds, it is pretty dang perfect. We have air conditioning (finally), and in-suite laundry which is a huge blessing! Here are some pictures:

The best part about moving to Edmonton so far has been meeting new people. Not only do we live right across the hall from Neil, Michelle and their boys, and Alex & Kensey, I have also had the privilege of meeting so many new wives who I adore already! It is so great having such an amazing support system around while your husband is working all day. So far we have been able to celebrate Kensey's Birthday and a couple of weeks ago we all went out for breakfast together which was so fun. They even gave Grant a baby gift basket which was so sweet of them. Speaking of babies, it has been so exciting to welcome 2 new babies into our office! Kensey went into labor one Saturday night while we were hanging out, that was the first time I had witnessed someone in labor that wasn't myself, and it was WAY exciting. The next day they announced that they had a baby girl named Brooklyn Mae, she has so much hair and is such an adorable little girl, just like her mom. We celebrated with a baby shower 10 days later, and all the excitement put Trixie into labor! She had a boy and named his Marius. I can't wait to meet the little guy!

Kensey's Birthday!

Brooklyn Mae's Baby Shower

I think my favorite part about this month was being able to celebrate my first Mother's Day. I truly felt so blessed to be able to spend all day with my beautiful baby boy and husband. They were so good to me and I don't think I will ever be able to express what I feel for them. I am so grateful to be this little boy's mama! He brings so much joy into my life already!

Not only did my mom and Jessica come up for a visit, I also had the chance this month to head down to Calgary and visit my family. Grant got to visit with people that he hadn't seen for awhile and he also got to meet people for the first time! I think it was record breaking how many people we were able to visit in 3 days and he was so spoiled, always being held by someone.

So besides all that, Grant and I spend our days hanging out together just the two of us, or with his cousins or with an awesome group of wives. This month has been filled with walks, bathtimes, playing, cooing, smiles, napping, pizza monday, watching ready for love, morning times with Garth, late saturday date nights, shopping at outlets and even an awesome sunday bike ride as a couple! I can tell this is going to be a great summer because we are enjoying it so much already!

The Fab Four.

I have some pretty great cousins, some pretty crappy cousins, some cousins I never see.  I have older cousins with kids of their own, and cousins much younger than me. I have a cousin who is the funniest guy I have ever met, and I may have a cousin or two that I wish I could forget. I have cousins that stand by me no matter which direction I'm hurled. Yes, I have the best two cousins in the whole entire world.

(Don't judge me. I wrote that in like 2 minutes.)

Introducing.... The FAB FOUR!

These 3 girls in this picture are my best friends. We have grown up together since we were babies (well obviously Jessica, I meant Jocy and Erica as well). We worked as slave labourers together in Grandma's basement as we helped prepare for her craft shows. (I wonder how many bridles we actually  made?) We were princesses and princes that were captured by an evil witch (grandma). We stayed up endless nights at grandma's house, listening to her stories, telling stories of our own and sometimes just giggling for no reason hours on end because we were way too overtired.

I love these girls and here are a couple reasons why:

I love that we have been by each others side since Day One.

I love that we spent our childhoods together, using our imaginations and dreaming up wonderful realities. We never stopped playing and we were never bored.

I loved going over to Grandma's house for family dinners together and then spending most of our time coming up with elaborate plans on how to convince our mom's to let us have a sleepover.

I love how we can tell each other things we normally wouldn't tell many people and know that we won't be judged.

I love that everybody KNOWS how much we love each other and they always say things like "I wish I  had cousins like that."

I love that they can make a boring holiday FUN!

I love how they made t-shirts and weren't too embarrassed to dress up like twihards with me on opening night. (Seriously, I don't know anybody else who would be willing to do stuff like that with me).

I love how most of the time we spend together is spent laughing our heads off. About what? I can't remember, but who cares.

I love that we spent so much of our time together creating things. Whether it be forced (crafts) or our own ideas.

I love how we can watch a movie, and spend the next couple of months quoting and singing songs from that movie and never get sick of it, because we all loved it THAT MUCH. (Don't go breaking my, don't go breaking my....)

I love how when I think about the most fun weekend I ever had, I think about them.

I love how finding some nerf guns in a closet at 3 in the morning turns into an all out epic battle. Seriously, I was so terrified.

I love how they can EVEN make a YSA dance fun

I love how we can get together again after months of being apart and just pick up where we left off.

I love how we acted out the Phantom of the Opera together when we were young. We forced everybody into the living room to watch us with our paper masks, costumes and I am sure less than perfect opera voices. (This is us re-creating a picture from when we were younger)

I love coming back to Calgary to spend time with friends, and end up spending all my time with them.

I love that we can stay strong together through all the Christmas Eve drama that seems to happen EVERY year haha.

I love that one Saturday night we randomly decide to dress up and make a Ke$ha video... and then spent hours watching it and laughing at ourselves.

I love how perfectly our group balances. Jessica Erica and I were the crazy ones who always wanted to break the rules, stay up later than we were supposed to and have fun all the time. Jocelyn has always been the mama bear of our group, always making sure we didn't go too overboard. Or at least make us clean up our messes.Don't get me wrong though, Jocelyn can get pretty crazy too ;) We love that about her.

I love that they support me in every way possible. Especially with my music, and that means so much to me!

I love how loving and friendly they are to everyone. When I got married, they not only kept hanging out with an old married woman, they completely embraced the Forsyth family and we can all hangout together and have a blast.

I love that they will dance with me in a fountain in front of a bunch of strangers. And then film it and put it on youtube for a bunch of other strangers to see.

I love spending summer days/nights with them.

I love that they will come with me on a spontaneous road trip to Great Falls to drop Garth off, just so I don't have to drive back pregnant and alone (well..still pregnant, just not alone.. you know what I meant.)

I love how weird we all are in our own ways. Jocelyn with her "nerd lisp" (It's just me guys, it's just me! or " And then we can have a schleepover *slurp*) Jessica with her hilarious embarrassing videos she takes of herself on my computer, Erica with her over the top laugh and hilarious stories. And me, well, I'm sure they have some things to say about my weirdness.

I love how excited we are for each other during the exciting times in our lives (graduation, music, sports, making a baby...hey, thats an accomplishment right?)

I love the walks to the park together.

I love how beautiful and talented they are.

I love the long nights of dressing up, picture taking, music, card games, and cheating at Settlers because that game just takes too fetching long.

I love that "this" happens. More frequently than you'd think.

I love how much they love my baby. Enough said.

So I think it's safe to say that I am the luckiest. I have have amazing family (obviously). Sometimes I feel like I have 5 sisters haha. (Mikayla not pictured).

"LAST ONE THERE IS A ROTTEN PICTURE FRAME!"

PS- Happy birthday Erica!
